State-of-the-Art Data Center Offering SOC 1 Compliance
Are you looking to utilize retail cloud computing services for your business’s IT needs? If so, make sure you select a data center that’s certified by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and has a SOC 1 designation. Not all data centers carry this certification, and it’s critical to choose one that does in order to ensure that your company’s confidential data remains private and secure. Compliance is a significant service differentiator to be considered when selecting a systems management provider.
You’ll be glad to know that RPE completes and passes the annual SOC 1 Type 2 compliance requirements. We know that clients who use our retail cloud computing and systems management services are entrusting their confidential data to us, and we consistently maintain the highest security controls to protect that information. We want our clients to feel confident in the security of our services, so we undergo extensive yearly testing to ensure that our data center and systems meet the high standards set forth by the AICPA.
What Does It Mean to Have SOC 1 Compliance?
The AICPA developed SOC 1 Type 1 and 2 audits to provide service organizations with a consistent method of disclosing independently assessed information about the design and operation of internal controls. A SOC 1 Type 1 audit looks at controls relevant to audits of clients’ financial statements. A SOC 1 Type 2 audit, on the other hand, takes it a step further and considers controls relevant to security, availability, processing integrity, confidentiality, and privacy. To achieve this means that the effectiveness of the RPE data center processes has been tested over a period of at least six months.
Companies that complete the AICPA’s annual audits offer their clients a substantially higher level of assurance and operational visibility than those that opt not to do so. RPE’s clients can feel confident knowing that we’ve taken proactive steps to develop and implement numerous controls in outsourcing services.
